Dow Constantine’s new title: King County Executive

Dow Constantine slowly weaved through a crowd of supporters at the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle, smiling and shaking hands with supporters as he scrambled for the podium. He claimed victory in the race for King County Executive on Tuesday night. Election results rolled on TV screens.

Patu claims victory in Seattle school board race

Ban Ki-moon receives honorary degree from the UW and is ‘finally a Husky’

Ban Ki-moon, the eighth United Nations Secretary-General, is a dawg. He’s a University of Washington (UW) Husky, that is. The university awarded him a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, Oct. 27 at Meany Hall for the Performing Arts.

New study says Asian Americans losing out on government contracts

Korean Americans Strickland and Ryu vie for political seats

Cindy Ryu earned the distinction of being the first female Korean American mayor in the United State two years ago when she was elected as Shoreline’s mayor.

This year, Marilyn Strickland, born in Seoul, may follow up on Ryu’s accomplishment by becoming Tacoma’s mayor.
