By Sue Misao Northwest Asian Weekly More than 30 women, including Peggy Lynch, wife of Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn, were arrested at the Washington State Republican Headquarters on Nov. 7, demanding “immediate action on a comprehensive immigration law that treats women and children fairly.”
The Refugee Women’s Alliance fundraising dinner was on Sept. 20 at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel on Sept. 20. Attending dignitaries included Gov. Jay Inslee, Mayor Mike McGinn, State Rep. Cyrus Habib and State Rep. Sharon Tomiko Santos.
For the last few weeks, things have not been going well between Mayor Mike McGinn and Seattle Council President Richard Conlin.
“It’s very important to us to hear from everyone in Seattle about what they think is important,” Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn said late last year, referring to how his campaign was run differently than how others are normally run — in a good way — and how he hopes to continue this grassroots spirit in his administration.
