China National Acrobatic Troupe’s North America show set to dazzle

On Thursday, Sept. 24, Chinese Consul General of San Francisco Gao Zhansheng and Washington state Attorney General Rob McKenna dropped by the Northwest Asian Weekly’s office in Seattle’s Chinatown/International District. Gao’s friend had called us two days earlier about his visit, but he never mentioned McKenna.

Pageant recrowns winner due to counting error

On the night of Saturday, April 18, the organizers of Hoa Khoi Lien Truong, a Vietnamese cultural pageant, breathed a sigh of relief, thinking they could start putting a successful event behind them. However, an officer of the Vietnamese Student Association at the University of Washington (VSA), the organizer of the event, recounted the judges’ scores and discovered an error in the calculation of the scores.
