Author and educator Eric Liu was the speaker at Technology Access Foundation’s 9th Annual Leadership Breakfast, held at the Sheraton Hotel in Seattle. The foundation raised $115,000, which will support the foundation and its students.
April 17: The Wing celebrates a century of stories
The Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience held its annual dinner and auction while also celebrating the 100-year anniversary of its home, the East Kong Yick. Festivities included an art auction with works by celebrated Asian Pacific American and Northwest artists, a family-style dinner, performances, and special guests like U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke and his wife, Mona. About 450 people attended.
March 13: Komen’s Grace Notes raises $720,000
Held at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle, the annual Puget Sound Affiliate Grace Notes gala raised $720,000.

April 8: Alexander Lu wins big in piano competition
Redmond resident Alexander Lu, a fourth grader at Bellevue Children’s Academy, won top honors in the KING FM Ten Grands Young Artist Awards competition. The pianist will perform center stage alongside the featured artists at the Ten Grands concert on May 21.
March 27: Interfaith dialogue of Evangelicals and Muslims a ‘tremendous success’
Some 300 members of local mosques and churches participated in a dialogue on the Islamic and Christian perspectives on Jesus on March 27 at the Harambee Church in Renton.
