University of Washington alumnus and poet Lawrence Matsuda recently released, “Glimpses of a Forever Foreigner,” in collaboration with artist Roger Shimomura. The book contains 38 poems about Minidoka, a Japanese concentration camp during World War II where Matsuda was born, after the war, friends and family, and the Fukushima disaster. There are four existing paintings and 18 original illustrations, including the cover by Shimomura. The book is available at Elliot Bay Books, Kobo, or online at Amazon.com. (end)
