Kollaboration Seattle crowned their fourth champion, the duo of spoken-word artist Troy Osaki and music producer Ariel Loud, on Sept. 21 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. Osaki and Loud won $1,000 for their performance. Osaki is a student at the University of Washington; Loud recently graduated from Garfield High School.

“To be an emerging Asian-American artist, to me it has this duality to it,” said Osaki in an interview before the show. “I’m really excited about trying to become an artist and trying to make it—and then also knowing that it’s going to be tougher and harder because I am Asian American.” (end)
