Chinatown street car to connect South Lake Union, Downtown

June 7, 2013 By Northwest Asian Weekly

Seattle is planning to connect the First Hill streetcar to the South Lake Union streetcar city announced June 3.

The Seattle Department of Transportation is currently studying two possible connection links between the two rail systems, one at 1st Avenue and a second at 4th and 5th Avenues.

This route was identified as one of four priority corridors in the Transit Master Plan adopted by the city council in April 2012. In November, a locally preferred alternative will be identified with a final alignment. Following that, an implementation plan as well as a finance plan will be created for the project. (end)
