On June 1, the Ethnic Heritage Council (EHC) will honor Pastor Patrinell Wright with the Cultural Treasure Award. The EHC calls Wright a true cultural symbol who preserves and promotes ethnic and cultural traditions, fosters mutual understanding, enriches lives, and celebrates Black heritage.
Wright and the Total Experience Gospel Choir have been involved in hurricane relief efforts, including efforts in New Orleans and Mississippi. Her talents also took her abroad when Wright was invited to bring gospel music to Japan and Korea. Wright just returned from helping with the tsunami relief efforts in Ishinomaki, Japan. The event honoring Wright will be held at the House of Hong restaurant with entertainment by Wheedle’s Groove and master of ceremonies and actor Daniel Niven. (end)
