The Coalition for Refugees from Burma (CRB), Amnesty International, Burma Partnership, and University Baptist Church partnered to hold a candlelight vigil for the fourth anniversary of Burma’s 2007 Saffron Revolution at the south end of Green Lake.
Today, nearly 2,000 political prisoners in Burma — including 222 monks — remain behind bars. Those responsible for the brutal crackdown in 2007 are still running the country and continue to commit serious human rights violations, especially in the ethnic minority areas of Burma. (end)
