Kin On’s Story Circle provides opportunities for older Asian adults and seniors to socialize, make new friends, and connect outside of their homes. It includes conversation and activity gatherings, educational workshops, and community events.
Sunday, Oct. 23, 1:30–3:00 p.m. — Play games together, including rummikub, Mexican train dominoes, and mah jong. Children and grandchildren are invited as well. Location: Beacon Hill Library, 2821 Beacon Ave. S., Seattle.
Wednesday, Nov. 2, 7–8:30 p.m. — Watch a fun TV show and enjoy interesting conversation afterward. Location: Kin On Health Care Center, 4416 S. Brandon St., Seattle.
Thursday, Nov. 10, 12–1 p.m. — Gather for a free lunch for those 60 and older at Asian Counseling Referral Service (ACRS)’s Bamboo Club, 3639 Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. (end)
Story Circle began through a grant opportunity from the Healthy Aging Partnership (HAP). The application team consisted of members from Jade Guild and the staff of Kin On Community Health Care. It was one of four projects chosen to receive funds to be implemented in 2011.
