Frank Irigon, a community activist, kicked off his campaign for Newcastle City Council, position 4, with a fundraiser and party at Tea Palace Restaurant in Renton.

Irigon and his wife, Felicita, have lived in Newcastle for more than 25 years, raising three children there.

Irigon describes himself as non-partisan. He has a master’s in social work from the University of Washington.

More than 70 people attended the event. About $10,000 was raised. ♦
