The Results — APIAs in the primaries

August 18, 2011 By Northwest Asian Weekly

Could last Tuesday’s election be a sign of things to come in November?

Though we did see some Asian and Pacific Islander Americans (APIA) advance to the general election, the percentage of the vote APIA candidates garnered could mean that there is a tough road ahead for all of the candidates.

In both King and Pierce Counties, which have APIAs running, the top two candidates who garner the most votes in the primary, regardless of political party, will move forward to the general election in November.

Editor’s note: Northwest Asian Weekly did not endorse any candidates during these primary elections. We omitted the races of APIA candidates who did not submit biographies or photos to their county auditors. The results above are as of publication time, and were last updated Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 4 p.m. We were unable to find API candidates in Snohomish or Thurston Counties. Let us know if we missed someone at info@nwasianweekly.com.
