May 5–6: Renowned jazz pianist Keiko Matsui performs in Seattle

Keiko Matsui

Keiko Matsui, a jazz fusion keyboardist and composer whose career spans three decades, played four shows for the Seattle’s Pacific Jazz Institute at Dimitrou’s Jazz Alley.

Matsui studied music at the Yamaha Music Foundation in Japan and has released 20 CDs. She is known for blending Western and Eastern musical influences. Bandmembers who played with Matsui included Kayta Matsuno (guitar), Jackiem Joyner (sax), Eric Baines (bass), and Chad Wright (drums). ♦
