The “X Factor,” a reality show and singing competition by Simon Cowell debuting this fall on FOX, will hold auditions in Seattle on Wednesday, April 20 at The Key Arena. Registration and wristband distribution will begin at 6:00 AM on Tuesday, April 19. The show is searching for undiscovered talent 12 years old or over — both solo artists and vocal groups — who are willing to brave the panel for a chance to make their dreams come true. The winner will receive a $5 million recording contract prize.
Why “X Factor” is reaching out to the Seattle API community:
“We are working with the show to reach out to all Asians in the U.S. who are singers — both as solos and as groups. We are looking to increase the representation of Asian Americans on the show. …
“Given the recent incident involving a young UCLA student ranting about Asians, we need to step and be heard to stop this ignorance. One way is to make sure that we are promoting our natural talents on shows like X FACTOR.”
Interested solo artists and vocal groups should sign up now for audition information at www.fox.com/theXfactor or call toll-free 855-345-5678.
