The Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) held its annual benefit gala at the Bellevue Westin. The event, “A Culinary Journey,” featured five chefs, Ngoan Nguyen, Pranee Khruasanit Halvorsen, Sam Choy, and David and Lily Kong. It also featured a performance by Teine Tama Samoa.
The ACRS, a nonprofit organization that provides human services and behavioral health programs to Asian Pacific Americans in King County, raised $110,000 through the event. Net proceeds benefit ACRS services, which help 23,000 annually. About 400 people attended.
