The National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP)-Seattle Chapter held its 31st Annual Leadership and Awards Gala at the Newcastle Golf Club. About 180 people attended. The event earned more than $25,000.
At the event, Erika Sanchez, a senior at Seattle University, was awarded the Verizon National NAAAP Scholarship. Tian Kisch, a student at Redmond High School, won an Emerging Leader award and a $1,500 scholarship. Erin Kim, president of her school’s Art Appreciation Club and its chapter of the National Honor Society, won an Emerging Leader award and a $1,500 scholarship. Stacy Huynh, a graduate of the University of Washington, won a $2,000 college scholarship.
Lily Jang of Q13 FOX News was the emcee of NAAAP-Seattle’s 31st Annual Leadership and Awards Gala. Christine Umayam, founder and executive director of Child United, was the event’s keynote speaker. ♦
