DARE, an acrobatic show featuring 38 award-winning performers from China, debuts this month at Meany Hall on the UW campus.

Nine of the 12 acts placed first at the International Acrobatic competitions in Monaco, France, Italy, Hungary, and Russia. Some of their awards include the Best Jester Award, the Presidential Award from France, and the Gold Lion Award. DARE combines ballet and acrobatics. The performances are designed to be complex and intricate while also being creative.

DARE is sponsored by the American Asian Performing Arts Theatre (AAPAT) and performed by the China National Acrobatic Troupe (CNAT). The troupe has performed in 114 countries. AAPAT is a nonprofit organization that has sponsored numerous shows from China, including the popular “China in Dance” series. DARE is an all-ages show. ♦

DARE will be performed on Oct. 30, Oct. 31, and Nov. 1 at the University of Washington’s Meany Hall.  For tickets, call 1-800-982-2787 or visit www.ticketmaster.com. For more information, visit www.AAPAT.org.
