A night to remember for local chefs

April 22, 2009 By Northwest Asian Weekly

On April 4, the Wing Luke Asian Museum presented A Year of New Beginnings, a dinner and auction that featured local chefs who made appetizers inspired by art.

This portion of the evening was organized by emcee Mark Dacascos, also known as “The Chairman” on Food Network’s “Iron Chef America.” Guests and judges voted for their favorite appetizers, and the results were announced during the dinner.

The People’s Choice Award went to Alex Nguyen of Saigon Bistro.

The Judge’s Pick Award went to Rachel Yang of Joule.

With about 400 people attending the event, the Wing Luke Asian Museum raised $250,000. Congratulations to the staff and their successful first year at the new location.
