Crown of glory

After weeks of tough competition, the new Miss Seafair, Kristen Tateishi, was crowned by Emily Suey July 26. Tateishi is well-versed in conversational Japanese and also currently attends law school at Gonzaga. She hopes to become an attorney in Washington, dedicating a third of her course load to pro bonowork. Third runner-up in the competition was Samantha Chin representing the Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce. First runner-up was Jenny Wu of Des Moines.
